How It Started for the Leason family

Lift is a family run business operating out of Puerto Rico since 2010. They have been riding the products they have been making since the beginning, so the constant pursuit for the ultimate ride has always been a part of their DNA. They do not cut corners. They just obsessively try to perfect.

In 2013, there co-founder Nick Leason an engineer and avid surfer- came up with the idea for the original eFoil, applying the technology from smart phones, electric vehicles and even drones into a board that would let its rider fly above any body of water without needing to be propelled by wind or waves. 

The experience of being able to fly over any body of water is now truly available to users around the world. As the Lift company has continued to grow, they have built out a family of over a hundred demo locations around the globe, including Ogunquit Maine.  www.liftfoils.com

How it Started for the Syrene family

Team Syrene is a family of water sports enthusiasts living on the Seacoast of Southern Maine. The story begins with Janna Syrene, a renowned windsurfer sponsored by Fanatic Windsurf Company, who spent a good part of her time in the Caribbean sailing around the waters of Aruba.  John Syrene has been an avid sailor and surfer since the 60s with a sizable resume exceeding 30 Islands and owning a windsurfing resort on the Caribbean island of Aruba. Aruba is where they found their common love for the ocean (and each other) and they sailed together almost every day. After a decade on Aruba in the watersports industry, John and Janna founded Windsurfing World Travel LTD, representing 25 sailing centers around the world. Their adventures in the ocean and mountains eventually took them to Maine where their love of all things water sports has been able to flourish.       

In the last year, Lift eFoil caught John's attention as being the next big thing in the watersports industry and he had to get in on the action. Also participating in this new adventure is Sophia Syrene, the daughter of Janna and John and Matt Testa. Sophia who was on the Maine State Ski Team and Matt are established skiers in the Stowe, VT community and are sponsored by Renoun Skis. They both are avid and passionate surfers, surfing over 80 days a season. We are a family of surfers who are obsessed about the ocean and Southern Maine.
